CSRF 2025-2026 Executive Committee
Katherine Péloquin - Past President
I am a professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal. My research primarily revolves around the dynamics of relationships and the sexual well-being of couples. This includes couples who are seeking relationship therapy as well as those going through assisted reproduction. I also focus on assessing the effectiveness of interventions designed for couples.
I have been a member of the CSRF since 2018 and have thoroughly enjoyed every conference I've attended. I am consistently impressed by the high quality of the work presented there. Additionally, I serve on the editorial boards of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy and Archives of Sexual Behaviors. French is my first language, and I have a passion for running and traveling. I also have a strong appreciation for fine dining, with a particular fondness for Asian cuisine.
Amy Muise - President
I am a Professor, York Research Chair in Relationships and Sexuality, and Director of the Sexual Health and Relationships (SHaRe) Lab at York University. My research is focused on sexuality in romantic relationships and the maintenance of desire and satisfaction over time. Outside of work, my family (my husband James, and our two kids, Lucy and Maverick) keeps me busy—we enjoy travelling (we spent part of my sabbatical in 2023 living in New Zealand) and are currently trying to reignite our love of snowboarding (and teach our kids)—but I also enjoy watching TV series (I have many favourites and am always look for new recommendations) and meeting with my long-time book club.
CSRF has played an integral role in my professional development. I attended and presented at my first CSRF conference as a graduate student in 2006. Since this time, I have been an active member of CSRF. I was the graduate student representative from 2007-2008, co-developed CSRF After Dark, which has been a long-time feature of the conference program, and I served as local host for the 2018 conference in Toronto.
Samantha Dawson - President Elect
I am a Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar, the Director of the Sexuality and Well-being (SWell) Lab, and a registered clinical psychologist. My multi-method research program focuses on identifying factors that contribute to sexual well-being in individuals and couples both inside and outside of the lab. Of particular interest is understanding sexuality during periods of vulnerability including pregnancy, the postpartum period, and perimenopause.
CSRF has been my academic playground since 2011 when I gave my first ever conference talk! Over the years I have developed friendships and collaborations, as well as had opportunities to give back by serving on the Executive Committee in the role of Treasurer (2017-2021), local host (2025), and now as President-Elect. When I am not working, I am spending time outdoors, either on the sidelines of my son’s many sporting events, hiking in the mountains, or laying on the beach.
Noémie Bigras - Secretary
I am a Professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology, Université du Québec en Outaouais, and Director of the Relationship, Sexuality and Traumas (Reset) Lab. I am also a clinical psychologist. My research focuses on the determinants of sexual well-being throughout the lifespan, from adulthood into later life, with particular attention to the effects of early relational and traumatic experiences.
I attended my first CSRF conference in 2022 at the Waterloo meeting. In my role as the CSRF secretary, I take minutes and I am responsible for producing the newsletter. My first language is French, and I live in the beautiful Laurentians. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, discovering fine restaurants and wine, and taking walks outdoors.
Marie-Pier Vaillancourt-Morel - Treasurer
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. The overarching goal of my research program is to enhance the sexual wellbeing of couples. More specifically, my research focuses on the effects of childhood maltreatment and pornography use on couples’ sexuality.
I attended my first CSRF conference in 2016 at the Quebec meeting. My first language is French and I live in Quebec City! Outside of work, I love working out, walking my dog, and travelling.
Sarah Beauchemin-Roy - Executive Director
I have been a research coordinator since 2018 in two different psychology labs at Université de Montréal. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sexology from Université du Québec à Montréal, with a concentration in Feminist Studies. As part of my Master’s, I completed a research internship at the Research Center for Women's Studies at SNDT Women’s University in Mumbai, India. While there, I conducted interviews with university women to explore their experiences and perceptions of sexual and reproductive health. In 2023, I helped organize the CSRF annual conference in Montréal, where I truly felt at home among like-minded people.
In my spare time, I produce and co-host Les SexMaitresses, a sexo-feminist podcast that has garnered over 220,000 listens. We enjoy translating research into accessible content and fostering reflection on sexology and feminist issues. I also love travelling and taking my time on slow runs to fully enjoy the experience. 😊
Fabiola Ngamaleu Teumeni - Senior Student Representative
I am a third-year psychology undergraduate student at Université de Montréal with a research focus on the sexual health and well-being of older adults through an intersectional lens. As a community care practitioner at the Black Healing Center and a volunteer with the West Island Black Community Association, I am passionate about fostering change and supporting marginalized communities. Outside of work, I love reading, traveling, and hosting dinner parties with friends over good food.
CSRF holds a special place in my heart as it was the first ever conference I attended, where I also presented my first research project. That experience allowed me to connect with like-minded students and researchers, sparking my passion for advancing knowledge in sexuality research. When the opportunity to participate in the organization presented itself, I knew I needed to take part. As a Junior Student Representative, I aim to encourage student involvement, promote their achievements, facilitate networking opportunities, and advocate for inclusivity within the CSRF community. I am thrilled to contribute to an organization that has had such a meaningful impact on my academic journey.
Anya Sharma - Junior Student Representative
I am a graduate student in the Institute of Medical Science (IMS) at the University of Toronto, where my research explores the psychosocial aspects of cancer, including sexuality, intimacy, and quality of life across the cancer journey. I am especially interested in how cancer and its treatments affect sexual health and relationships, and in finding evidence-based ways to improve supportive care for people affected by cancer. My work is rooted in patient-centered and equity-informed research that connects clinical care with community engagement and real-world impact.
CSRF has played a formative role in my academic journey, as it was the first conference I attended and the first venue where I presented my research. That experience allowed me to connect with peers and researchers who shared my interests, deepening my engagement with sexuality research and motivating me to pursue this work more intentionally. I have since been actively involved in planning the 2024 and 2025 CSRF conferences, held in Halifax and Vancouver, respectively.
As the new Junior Student Representative, I am excited to help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and interdisciplinary space for students and early-career researchers. I see CSRF as a supportive community for mentorship, collaboration, and advocacy, and I am committed to ensuring that emerging scholars feel encouraged, represented, and heard.
Dr. Chelsea Kilimnik (she/her), CSRF Executive JEDI Committee Representative
I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder and a licensed clinical psychologist. My lab, the Growth, Identity, and Sexual Trauma (GIST) Lab, focuses on sexualized and identity-based violence and trauma and its impact on sexual and psychological well-being. We work closely with community organizations, campus leaders, and students in developing and examining programs for prevention and intervention that are accessible and inclusive with an overarching goal of reducing disparities in violence. I serve as the chair for CSRF’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee – reach out anytime with thoughts or feedback on ways to bolster the organization’s inclusion of diverse identities, voices, and ways of knowing and learning. I also invite ideas for training opportunities that would support CSRF members’ in more inclusive research practices. I’ve been coming to CSRF for many years and consider it my research home. My favorite CSRF memory is the wine tasting and pyramid tour in Kelowna (CSRF 2015). Outside of work you can generally find me eating, reading, camping, or playing video games.
